Affirming Our Faith

During this time a musical interlude will be played. You are asked to think about your faith and how you would express what you believe. As a church we often express our faith by using “The Apostles Creed” which is given to you as a pattern of faith expression.

Profession of Faith: The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy universal church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Westminster is a congregation of the Evangelical Coalition of Presbyterians and as such it is a conservative congregation. We believe in the Bible as the inspired word of God. We adhere to reaching out to others and loving our fellow human beings regardless of faith, creed, ethnicity or background.

Dr. Jerry Headrick has over 50 years of experience in pastoral ministry. He grew up in southern Appalachia, has written 10 books and enjoys porch and church pondering, from which most of his sermons develop. He says he is a mountain boy who never left his mountain ways and his mountain talk. He likes to give down to earth sermons because he loves people and wants to communicate with all.
